HR professionals, who have sufficient knowledge on various fields and looking for a career change for them, may choose this profession. These experts are helpful in handling almost every issues related to a person's career such as job change, career change, job satisfaction, maintaining a work-life balance, etc. Although it is not mandatory, people prefer a career coach who holds a qualification degree on career development. People, who need guidance towards building their career and achieving goals, often need the help of an expert person who is also known as career coach.

Career coaches will not decide anything for you

This is because, the industry feels that if the individuals themselves make the decision, they will have a better personal satisfaction levels. Briefly speaking, the trainers will give you all the information that you need to decide something. They will not impose their own decision on you. However, career coaches will be helpful in making the career-related decision by explaining you the situation you are facing and the possible solutions you have. Career coaches will not make business decisions for you.

Do you expect your coach to pamper you?

They will not overestimate you and make you feel that. Pampering is not ethical in this business. As a coach, he cannot pamper you. He has to be neutral. Career coaches are people who have realistic outlook and can help you in achieving what you can. They will not try to make you achieve someone that you cannot.

Career coaching versus life coaching

Career coaching will be useful in guiding and mentoring people when they are making their career decision. There are certain things that this counselling cannot do for a person. It should not be confused with personal coaching, as it is strictly restricted to a person's career. If someone needs guidance for making right decision related to his/her life, he should approach a personal coach. Although, these are confusing, career coaching may be considered as a special area of personal coaching.
